Collection Bio — Circus & Playtime

The Circus and Playtime prints were conceived as a celebration of childhood wonder — a return to the uninhibited joy, curiosity, and imagination that shape our earliest memories. Inspired by two spaces deeply embedded in the language of play — the circus and the playground — this collection explores environments where colour, movement, and spontaneity reign.

The circus represents spectacle and exaggeration: a world of surreal characters, impossible acts, and heightened emotion. The playground, by contrast, reflects freedom and discovery — a place of improvisation, social connection, and boundless energy. Though distinct, both are united by a shared emotional landscape: joy without restraint, creativity without judgement, and a sense of awe that transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Through bold geometry, vibrant colour clashes, and dynamic visual rhythms, the prints translate these feelings into wearable form. The garments are designed not only to be seen, but to be felt — evoking nostalgia while challenging the wearer to reconnect with a more playful, fearless self.

This collection is ultimately a reflection on how adulthood often distances us from play, and how fashion can act as a medium for rediscovery. It invites the wearer to embrace delight, celebrate individuality, and reclaim the magic of uninhibited expression.

Collection Bio — Kayos Creations

Kayos Creations emerges from a deliberate collision between function and exaggeration — a playful rebellion against the rigid logic of practicality. Rooted in JOOR TOON’s signature visual language, this collection explores what happens when garments are freed from the expectation of behaving “correctly.”

Drawing inspiration from the Memphis Movement’s fearless embrace of colour, pattern, and visual disruption, alongside the Bauhaus philosophy of form meeting function, the collection thrives within the tension between utility and absurdity. Where Bauhaus sought clarity and purpose, Memphis celebrated chaos and emotional response — Kayos Creations exists precisely between these two poles.

Each piece pushes familiar design codes beyond their intended limits:

The JOOR TOON Block Pants, with their eight oversized pockets, stretch the idea of utility into theatrical excess. Pockets become exaggerated gestures rather than purely functional tools — humorous, impractical, yet visually commanding.

The Playtime Pants subvert traditional garment construction by transforming discarded shirt collars into mismatched, unexpected pockets. Elements once symbolic of structure and formality are recontextualised into playful, irrational details.

The Patchwork Overalls celebrate repair as an aesthetic rather than a correction. Mending is amplified, layered, and deliberately chaotic, reframing imperfection as narrative and process as decoration.

The Accordion Shirts, voluminous and sculptural, challenge the boundary between clothing and object. Their dramatic pleats engulf the body, exaggerating movement, silhouette, and presence.

Kayos Creations is ultimately a meditation on excess, contradiction, and delight. It questions the unspoken rules that dictate how clothing should function, proposing instead that fashion can exist as humour, spectacle, and emotional provocation.

Rather than resolving the tension between functionality and form, the collection embraces their conflict — inviting the wearer to inhabit a space where logic loosens and self-expression takes precedence.

Welcome to JOOR TOON — where chaos becomes design, and play becomes philosophy.

Balloon Shirt Series

The Balloon Shirt Series reimagines the familiar oversized shirt through volume, exaggeration, and movement. Dramatic pleating and sculptural draping transform a functional wardrobe staple into something immersive, expressive, and unapologetically bold. What is typically associated with ease and simplicity becomes theatrical — a silhouette that expands, curves, and floats around the body.

At its core, the series explores the tension between containment and freedom. A shirt, traditionally designed to follow the structure of the torso, is liberated from its expected role and allowed to occupy space with intention. The inflated forms evoke a sense of lightness and play, yet they also challenge the wearer’s awareness of their physical presence. The garment refuses to disappear into practicality; instead, it asserts itself as an experience.

By amplifying proportion and disrupting conventional fit, the Balloon Shirt questions why everyday clothing is so often confined to rules of subtlety and restraint. It proposes an alternative: that daily dress can be sculptural, humorous, and emotionally charged. The familiar becomes strange, the ordinary becomes performative, and the shirt — perhaps the most universal of garments — becomes a vehicle for identity, imagination, and visual impact.

Utility Reimagined – Small Drop

This drop explores excess, nostalgia, and playful distortion through a dramatic 80s lens. Rooted in the decade’s unapologetic extravagance, the collection amplifies familiar garments into bold, sculptural statements that challenge how utility and silhouette are traditionally understood.

The cargo pants become an exercise in deliberate overindulgence. Featuring sixteen pockets, functionality is pushed beyond logic into visual spectacle. Storage — typically a practical concern — is exaggerated to the point of absurdity, transforming utility into ornamentation. The garment becomes less about carrying objects and more about carrying attitude, presence, and humour.

Alongside them, the flared pants reject the soft, fluid flare commonly associated with retro styles. Instead, geometric box pleats engineer a sharp, architectural expansion from the leg. The flare is no longer passive or decorative; it is constructed, angular, and assertive. This unconventional approach reframes movement and volume as something designed rather than draped.

Together, the pieces reflect a core tension: when does practicality stop being practical, and when does exaggeration become its own form of function? By fusing theatrical proportions with references to 80s boldness, the collection celebrates fashion as expression rather than restraint — where exaggeration is not a flaw, but the entire point.

Collection Rationale – Joor Toon Shirt

The Joor Toon Summer Shirt explores the visual rhythm and sensory intensity of the city translated into wearable form. The City Print acts as an abstracted urban landscape — a composition of geometry, colour, and fragmentation that mirrors the layered experience of navigating contemporary environments. Streets, signage, movement, and architecture dissolve into a playful yet structured graphic language.

Rather than treating print as surface decoration, the design positions it as narrative. The vibrant palette reflects the overstimulation and dynamism of city life, while the interlocking shapes evoke density, unpredictability, and constant motion. The shirt becomes a portable extension of the urban atmosphere — energetic, expressive, and impossible to ignore.

The relaxed camp-collar silhouette intentionally contrasts the visual complexity of the print. This tension between ease and intensity is central to the concept: a familiar, effortless garment becomes a canvas for excess, joy, and visual disruption. By amplifying colour and pattern within a casual summer staple, the piece challenges the expectation that everyday clothing should remain visually restrained.

Ultimately, the shirt embodies a core Joor Toon philosophy — that fashion can capture emotion, environment, and personality simultaneously. It transforms the chaos, vibrancy, and spontaneity of the city into something personal and celebratory, inviting the wearer to inhabit boldness rather than observe it.
